Photowalk with Jayendra Sharan
2023, October 08
I shoot mainly during the week. But so happy to had the time to shoot with Jay for 2 hours this Sunday.
My son had a birthday party from a friend, so that gave me two extra street hours.
When Jay approached me to take a walk together, I was immediately impressed by the images on his website.
He shoots the unique beauty of the streets of Amsterdam.
It's nice to hear that Jay, like me, is looking to connect with other street photographers who are also just as passionate.
In the two hours we had today we were able to talk a lot and we walked a good distance from Waterlooplein to Dam Square, Central Station, a bit of the Jordaan and back to Waterlooplein.
Hopefully we meet again soon to shoot more!

My challenge for today was to leave the Ricoh GR in my bag and only to shoot with the Fuji X100V. Unlike other times, where I took the GR again within half an hour, I managed to shoot only with X100V today.
With the GR I normally have it on F8, changing the shutter-speed between 1/200 to 1/500, Auto ISO and snap focus on 2,5 or 3,5 meter.
However with the X100V I made it as easy as possible, F8 and Auto ISO with a shutter-speed min. of 1/320. Autofocus large zone.
During the shooting it all felt well ... but afterwards I think most of the photos had too much motion blur. It feels like with the GR I would have more keepers.
Next time I will use the X100V without the autofocus but also manual zone focus.
